This story touched me. I’ve never had the opportunity to try Pappy, but the idea of putting an effort into perfecting a craft is an ideal I aspire to. This story touches on the traditions of family and legacy that I think every dad thinks about. The balance between holding onto nostalgia and keeping up with the times is a struggle for everyone. But if you can figure out how to balance the two I think you can create something timeless. In addition to the legacy of the Van Winkle family the author shares his own struggles to become a dad and is forced to think about what kind of father he wants to be to his children. I think every dad will enjoy reading this one.
